"So many people think it is great to lock the door and go. I like to lock the door and enjoy the chance to do the many activities here at Realife."
— Alice (8 Year Resident)
"One of the best decisions I have ever made was moving to Realife from Georgia. Having had a yard and flowers, I am very happy that I still get to play in the dirt with the Garden Club. There are so many things to do, I never get bored: Books to read in the well-stocked library; card games galore; lots of laughs at coffee every morning; jigsaw puzzles, pool table and card tables in the Activities Room. It is also a very convenient place to live with banks, post office, MANY restaurants, churches, grocery stores, medical facilities and more within a few blocks. It is a fantastic place to retire and make new friends!"
— Nettie (4 Year Resident)
"The first time I walked into Realife to put our name on the waitlist I felt right at home - Now that I'm living here, I am at home! I can't explain why I feel this way, I had checked out about three other places and never had the same feelings I felt here at Realife. Everyone is so comfortable, happy and respectful of each other. I never feel alone - always someone around - coffee is on every morning in our Great Room - so many activities you can be involved with if you choose."
— Mavis (2 Year Resident)
"I had passed the Realife Cooperative building many times and was intrigued by it. When I saw an ad in the paper for an Open House, I knew it was time to investigate. What a wonderful surprise was in store for me! The atmosphere was very welcoming as I walked in the door. Everyone was so friendly; the building is so attractively and tastefully decorated and I fell in love with an apartment that was for sale. Living here has been a real blessing for me. I am part of a loving community. I can be as involved with the various activities as I want to be. Come and see for yourself!"

A Community of Friends
Realife Cooperative of Bloomington on Lyndale is a community of friends, much like a small town in the middle of the city.
The 130 residents look out for each other and, like family, they gather regularly for activities - from pancake breakfasts to friendly competition on the Nintendo Wii, to a computer club. In fact, the son of one of the residents commented, "This place is like a college dorm for seniors!" - without having to get up for 8 a.m. classes.
Realife residents are mostly in the 70-85 year old age bracket. Ages range from 55 to those past 90. Several of those residents are very active 90-year-olds. Younger residents find that, by becoming Realife residents, they’ve just got that much more time to enjoy the wonderful community.
The camaraderie is quickly evident to new residents and visitors to Realife. One resident commented, “I'm so glad I moved here instead of staying in my house. I'm never lonely and I can just go to my apartment if I want my privacy. Living here definitely keeps me active and alert.”
One of the newest residents came to last fall’s Open House and bought a unit shortly thereafter. Her reason was that she didn’t want to spend another winter alone in her apartment. She is now one of Realife’s biggest boosters, commenting that she absolutely loves her new home.
